Expert Opinion on the Key Influencing Factors of Cost Control for Water Engineering Contractors

There are many unpredictable circumstances during the implementation process of a water conservancy project, which often cause financial loss, increased construction costs and schedule delays. This paper investigates influence factors for project cost control. The present study used factor analysis method to extract major control factors, performed correlation clarify relationship between these sub-factors under each factor. Several practitioners were invited analyze provide some strategic suggestions in terms minimizing impact factors. results illustrate that construction, engineering contractors who want reduce need focus on lack clear definition scope works, subcontractors’ insufficient ability perform work, site conditions escalation material cost. demonstrated unreasonable requirements from supervision unit unfair standpoints highly correlated; mobilization management capability subcontractor medium works shortage materials correlated. facilitates future identify underlying causes increases.
